Fort Popham
Phippsburg, ME
Hardypond is working with the State of Maine Bureau of Parks and
Lands on the Phase One Restoration of Fort Popham. The work
includes masonry demolition and restoration, and metal
fabrications throughout the Fort casemates. The project will be
complete July 1st, 2009 and will allow the public to view the
entire second story of the Fort.
Saco Transportation Center
Saco, ME
Hardypond finished construction on the Saco Transportation
Center designed by
Lassel Architects P.A. in
January. The
building will service the Amtrak/Downeaster train, a bus
station, and the Saco/Biddeford Chamber of Commerce and Tourism
Information office. The project is located on a reclaimed brownfield site at Saco Island. The building will have superior
insulation qualities, day lighting obtained through passive
solar design, a wind turbine for electricity, and a geothermal
system for heating and cooling purposes.
Popham Beach Upgrades
Phippsburg, ME
Hardypond is
working with the State of Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands to
build two new bathroom/changing facilities at Popham Beach. The
work consists of demolition of the existing buildings and
construction of two 3,400 sf buildings with CMU block
walls and wood trusses. Additionally, there are extensive site
upgrades as Popham Beach is one of the State's most popular
sites in the summer months.
